The great thing about being a teacher or parent, is that you have an excuse to relive your childhood- in a way.
Working with students and being around children allows you to reminisce about your own childhood, and to regain a youthful attitude- when you witness the "firsts of childhood and youth"- like learning to ride a bicycle for the first time. You learn what influences and occupies the minds of young people today. And you're reminded of what distractions filled your mind in your youth.
But who needs an excuse to revisit their childhood? I think that every once in a while, everyone should play, imagine, and create with abandon- like a child.
Of course there's a fine line that parents, especially, must mindfully heed- a line between simply reminiscing about their youth and trying to relive it through their children.
